Nulytely

Ready, Set, prep!
Nulytely is a prescription medicine used by adults to clean the colon before a colonoscopy. Nulytely cleans your colon by causing you to have diarrhea (loose stools). Cleaning your colon helps your healthcare provider see the inside of your colon more clearly during your colonoscopy.

What can I expect?
Five Days before your procedure
Please stop eating corn, nuts, seeds, beans, and any vitamins or supplements with iron.
The Day before your procedure
You may have clear liquids only.
Between the hours of 8 am-12 pm drink one 10z bottle of magnesium citrate
DO NOT HAVE ANY FOOD, CREAM, OR MILK PRODUCTS.
🚫 NO candy or gum, as well as refrain from smoking, vaping, and using any tobacco products, illicit drugs, or cannabis, including medical cannabis.
If you consume any of these after midnight, it will result in having to reschedule your exam.
* Remember it is important to drink plenty of clear liquids before and during the colon prep process to properly prepare for your exam.
The Night Before your procedure
At 4 pm, take 2 Dulcolax laxative tablets (purchased over the counter)
Mix your bowel prep solution by tearing off one flavor packet of your choice and add it to the container. Then add water to the “fill line” on the container. Put the lid back on the container and shake it to dissolve the powder. Put it in the refrigerator so that it can chill.
6 pm: Take one anti-nausea pill, then drink 1/2 of the Nulytely solution within 1 hour. You may maintain clear liquids until midnight tonight as tolerated.
Place the remainder of the solution back into the refrigerator overnight.
The Morning of your procedure
Tomorrow, at the time you were given by our staff, take an anti-nausea pill and drink the rest of the Nulytely within an hour.
Once you finished, it is nothing to eat or drink until after your procedure.
